The Faculty of Health Sciences at Gedik University has been providing education since 2017. Initially, the Departments of Child Development and Occupational Health and Safety commenced their academic activities. Since 2018, the Faculty has expanded its educational portfolio with the establishment of the Departments of Nutrition and Dietetics, Nursing, and Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation.
Health is the most fundamental and indispensable value for individuals, societies, and humanity as a whole. Healthy individuals constitute the cornerstone of a healthy society and represent one of the most significant assurances for the future.
Within our Faculty, we strive not only to equip our students with professional knowledge and competencies in their respective disciplines but also to educate them as qualified healthcare professionals who make meaningful contributions to the health and well-being of society.
In recent years, remarkable advancements have taken place in the healthcare sector both globally and in Türkiye, contributing significantly to healthier and longer lives. The Departments of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation (offered in both Turkish and English) promote mobility and functional independence, while the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics contributes to the sustainability of healthy living through evidence-based nutritional science. The Department of Child Development aims to maximize children’s developmental potential, whereas the Department of Nursing plays an indispensable role in safeguarding and improving the health of individuals, families, and communities.
The convergence of technology and medicine, the integration of artificial intelligence into diagnostic and therapeutic processes, the growing emphasis on preventive healthcare and rehabilitation, and the expanding role of nutritional sciences in combating chronic diseases have transformed healthcare into an increasingly dynamic and strategic field. Our Faculty closely follows these developments, continuously updating its curriculum, educational practices, and research agenda in accordance with contemporary scientific and technological advancements. We provide our students with interactive learning environments, comprehensive educational resources, extensive clinical placements, and valuable research opportunities.
All five departments within our Faculty offer graduates broad career opportunities in hospitals, rehabilitation centers, schools, sports organizations, public institutions, and the private sector.
Our greatest strength lies in our distinguished and experienced academic and administrative staff, supported by the vision and strong institutional foundation of the Gedik Education and Social Assistance Foundation.
Our mission is to educate highly qualified healthcare professionals who are grounded in scientific principles, committed to ethical values, innovative in their approach, and dedicated to serving humanity in accordance with national and international standards.
Our vision is to establish the Faculty of Health Sciences at Gedik University as a nationally and regionally recognized center of excellence in education, research, and community service.
We remain committed to continuously enhancing the quality of education we provide, meeting accreditation standards, and strengthening both national and international collaborations.
An important milestone has already been achieved in this regard. The Departments of Nutrition and Dietetics, Child Development, Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, and Nursing have been internationally accredited by the Accreditation Agency in Health and Social Sciences (AHPGS). Furthermore, our new campus buildings will soon become operational, enabling us to continue delivering education in more modern, technologically advanced, and well-equipped learning environments.
With the shared enthusiasm, dedication, and sense of responsibility of our esteemed academic staff and valued students, I firmly believe that together we will continue to lead our Faculty toward even greater achievements.
I extend my sincere respect and warm regards to you all.
