  • Dr. Child Development Specialist Yasemin Yılmazer was a guest at the Career Days event organized by the Department of Child Development. She informed students from the Child Development department and other departments of our university with a seminar titled ‘Hospitals and Child Development Professionals.’ We thank her for her contributions.
  • The guest of the Career Days event organized by the Child Development Department of the Faculty of Health Sciences was Göncü Musa ZEYTUN, a member of the DOSTEXT Project. The DOSTEXT Project aims to ‘listen’ to all individuals with hearing impairment, striving to be their voice. It effectively utilizes modern technology to provide a bright solution that facilitates life for hearing-impaired individuals. DOSTEXT digitally translates real-life sign language interactions, offering a unique solution to the need for easy communication and understanding anytime, anywhere for the hearing-impaired. Animation characters bring sign language to life and can also convert movements into text or speech. Contrary to common belief, written communication is not a very effective method to communicate with the hearing-impaired. Due to the grammatical and structural differences between sign language and Turkish, hearing-impaired individuals often struggle to read and understand written messages. Therefore, the sign language, which is unique to the hearing-impaired, can be thought of as an application that translates it into Turkish, similar to online translation tools, and vice versa. This application enables limitless communication with the hearing-impaired. For more project details, click here. We thank Mr. Göncü Musa Zeytun for his innovative project for individuals with hearing impairment and for enlightening our students about entrepreneurship.
