We Are Deeply Saddened by the Passing of Professor Kamil Özer

We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Professor Kamil Özer, the founding dean of our Faculty of Sport Sciences, former acting rector of our university, esteemed sports scientist, and former national gymnast.

A commemoration ceremony will be held at Marmara University Faculty of Sport Sciences on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at 9:00 a.m., followed by the funeral at Gazi Süleyman Paşa Mosque in Lapseki, Çanakkale, after the afternoon prayer.

We extend our deepest condolences to his family, loved ones, and the entire sport sciences community. May he rest in peace.
