PROF. DR. ESRA DOĞRU HÜZMELİ AT THE BETTERCARE MEETING

The international meeting organized within the scope of the European Union-supported Bettercare Project, which aims to develop innovative approaches to prevent caregiver errors in home care and enhance the safety of care recipients, was held on June 26–27, 2025, in Zagreb, Croatia, with the participation of many countries from across Europe.

The main objective of the project is to strengthen safe care practices by fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and establishing open dialogue involving citizens, end-users, and academics, in order to prevent errors made by caregivers in home care settings. Within this framework, the meeting focused on evaluating current global care systems and discussing how better care services can be developed.

Prof. Dr. Esra Doğru Hüzmeli, a faculty member of the Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation at Istanbul Gedik University Faculty of Health Sciences, attended the meeting and represented our university. Together with her team, Prof. Dr. Hüzmeli is actively involved in research aimed at improving the quality and safety of care services by examining existing care systems around the world.
