Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Dept. Congress Participation

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nihan Yarmacı Güvenç, Lecturer Büşra Diken Çolak, and Research Assistant Seray Evren participated in the 7th International Turkic World Tourism Congress held between May 21–25, 2025, in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, hosted by Eastern Mediterranean University.

At the congress, Lecturer Büşra Diken Çolak presented the paper titled “Turkic World Culinary Identity: An Evaluation of Cultural Heritage in the Context of Gastronomy Tourism”, which she co-authored with Prof. Dr. Serkan Şengül and Research Assistant Seray Evren. The study focused on evaluating the culinary cultures of the Turkic world within the framework of gastronomy tourism.

Research Assistant Seray Evren also presented the paper titled “A Perspective on Cypriot Cuisine Through Menus and Consumer Reviews”, co-authored with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nihan Yarmacı Güvenç. The paper offered a unique contribution by examining local culinary culture through current consumer experiences and restaurant menus.
