Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Academics Receive Paper Award

Within the scope of the 7th International Turkic World Tourism Congress, held between May 21–25, 2025, in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and hosted by Eastern Mediterranean University, the paper titled “Turkic World Culinary Identity: An Evaluation of Cultural Heritage in the Context of Gastronomy Tourism”, prepared by Lecturer Büşra Diken Çolak, Prof. Dr. Serkan Şengül, and Research Assistant Seray Evren from Istanbul Gedik University, was awarded the Prof. Dr. Mehmet Altınay Special Award – Bronze Paper by the congress scientific committee.

The paper focused on examining the culinary identity of the Turkic world within the framework of cultural heritage and evaluating it in the context of gastronomy tourism. The presentation was noted for highlighting cultural diversity within academic studies related to tourism.
