Lecturer Sibel Karabel presented a paper at the International Symposium on New Horizons in Turkey-Sri Lanka Relations.

Within the framework of academic activities of the Asia-Pacific Strategic Studies Research and Application Center, participation took place in the International Symposium titled “New Horizons in Türkiye–Sri Lanka Relations,” organized in cooperation with the South Asia Strategic Research Center (GASAM), Istanbul Medeniyet University, and the Embassy of Sri Lanka.
Within the scope of the symposium, Lecturer Sibel Karabel, Director of the Asia-Pacific Strategic Studies Research and Application Center, delivered a presentation entitled “A Geopolitical Perspective on China–Sri Lanka Relations.” The presentation examined China’s strategic engagements in South Asia, Sri Lanka’s regional positioning, and the role of these relations within the broader global balance of power.

The event also provided an academic platform for discussing Türkiye–Sri Lanka relations, the geopolitical significance of South Asia, and potential avenues for regional cooperation.
