Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation is a healthcare discipline that aims to maintain, improve and restore individuals’ maximum movement capacity throughout their lifetime. Physiotherapists are health professionals who implement physical therapy and rehabilitation programs for patients diagnosed by a specialist physician, and who perform assessments and interventions that help maintain and enhance the quality of life of healthy individuals.
Students who wish to become physiotherapists are required to complete a four-year undergraduate program that includes courses in basic medical sciences, professional ethics, physiotherapy and rehabilitation, as well as clinical practice in various fields.
At Istanbul Gedik University, our aim is to educate physiotherapists who can work in universities, public and private healthcare institutions, inpatient treatment centers, prosthetics and orthotics units, sports clubs, rehabilitation and education centers, and many other professional settings. We strive to train professionals equipped with up-to-date knowledge and universal-level competencies, who embrace the ethical values of the physiotherapy profession, and who are capable of identifying, preventing, and treating movement and functional disorders while improving health-related quality of life.
Our graduates are expected to adopt a community-oriented and health-promoting perspective, understand the importance of research, possess lifelong learning and evidence-based practice skills, and develop an interdisciplinary approach that supports collaboration across healthcare fields.
We take great pride in supporting our valuable students on their journey to becoming physiotherapists, and we share their excitement throughout their undergraduate education.
