About the Department

Computer Engineering is one of the most dynamic and rapidly evolving disciplines in engineering today. Covering a wide range of areas such as software, hardware, artificial intelligence, data science, cybersecurity, computer networks, and mobile technologies, it has become a key field that drives technological impact on both social and industrial life.

The Computer Engineering Department at Istanbul Gedik University follows this rapid advancement closely and offers students a robust engineering education combining theoretical and practical knowledge. Our curriculum is structured in line with contemporary technologies along with fundamental engineering sciences. Students have the opportunity to specialize in various areas including programming, algorithm development, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, database systems, embedded systems, and web/mobile software development.

Our department provides students with the opportunity to gain interdisciplinary knowledge and international experience through double major, minor, and Erasmus programs.

With the “Work-Based Learning” program in the final year, students gain significant real-world experience by actively working in industry settings before graduation. This enables our graduates to be equipped not only with theoretical knowledge but also with practical skills, making them highly prepared for professional life.

Our academic staff consists of faculty members who possess both academic and industry experience. This ensures that students develop scientific thinking skills while also gaining an industrial perspective throughout their university education.

Our Mission

The mission of the Computer Engineering Department is to educate individuals equipped with ethical values, capable of analytical thinking, producing creative solutions, embracing lifelong learning, and acting as researchers and entrepreneurs in the fields of computer and information technologies. Our primary goal is also to contribute to the knowledge base through scientific research and technological development.

Our Vision

Our vision is to become a leading Computer Engineering department recognized nationally and internationally, with strong ties to both industry and academia, capable of training qualified engineers who meet the needs of the age, and known for its scientific productivity and innovation.
