IGUN-TOMER Advisory Board Meeting

On 05.02.2026, the 2026 First Advisory Board Meeting of Istanbul Gedik University Turkish Education Application and Research Center (IGUN-TOMER) was held. The meeting was chaired by the Center Director, Assist. Prof. NERMA ZAIMOVIC.

The meeting was attended by Prof. Dr. Nezir TEMUR, President of the Board of Directors of the Association for Evaluation and Accreditation of Language Learning/Preparatory Centers; Lecturer Egemen Ozan SÖNMEZ, Director of the Turkish Education Application and Research Center at Fenerbahçe University; Lecturer Bedia GÖNENÇ from the School of Foreign

Languages at Istanbul Gedik University; General Coordinator Merve BÖLÜKBAŞI from KS Culture and Arts Publishing; TOMER graduate Caroline Laure DJOTCHOUANG WENGA

EPSE TCHOMNOU; TOMER student Birzhan ZHANIBEK; and the administrative staff of the Center.

The meeting, which addressed the activities carried out during the period from August 2025 to January 2026, began with the opening speech of the Center Director, Assist. Prof. NERMA ZAIMOVIC. During the meeting, the educational activities of IGUN-TOMER, the structure and course processes of Turkish preparatory programs, assessment and evaluation practices, quality assurance efforts, academic integrity and artificial intelligence usage policies, exam and certification procedures, as well as activities and student statistics conducted between 01.09.2025 and 30.01.2026 were evaluated.

The meeting concluded after receiving the evaluations, opinions, and recommendations of the Advisory Board members.
