Istanbul Gedik University Ranked First in University-Industry Collaboration in TURKIYE

Istanbul Gedik University has secured the top position in Türkiye based on the ratio of academic publications produced through university-industry collaboration to the university’s total number of publications.

This achievement highlights once again the strong connection between academic knowledge and sectoral expertise.

As collaborations between universities and industry continue to grow across Türkiye, this positive development is increasingly reflected in joint academic publications. According to the 2024 University Monitoring and Evaluation General Report published by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), there has been a significant increase in the number of publications produced through university-industry partnerships. In 2023, 128 universities had a publication ratio of 1% or more through such collaborations, with a total of 995 publications recorded. The average share of these publications in overall university output was 1.21%, compared to 1.07% in 2021 and 1.19% in 2022.

Istanbul Gedik University Reaches the Top

Among all institutions, Istanbul Gedik University demonstrated the most notable performance. With a university-industry collaboration publication ratio of 6.48%, the university ranked first, further solidifying its pioneering role in transforming industrial partnerships into academic output. This success is a tangible reflection of the university’s emphasis on innovation and applied research.
