The 8th International Exercise and Sport Psychology Congress Held in Collaboration with Istanbul Gedik University Faculty of Sports Sciences
The 8th International Exercise and Sport Psychology Congress, organized in collaboration with Marmara University Faculty of Sports Sciences, Istanbul Gedik University Faculty of Sports Sciences, and the Association for Exercise and Sport Psychology, was held in Istanbul from April 24 to 26, 2025.
The congress began with an opening speech by Professor Turgay Biçer, Head of the Sports Management Department at Istanbul Gedik University Faculty of Sports Sciences. With the theme “Sport Psychology in the Context of Values: Character or Talent?”, the event brought together scholars from Turkey and abroad, making valuable contributions to the field of sport sciences.
From the Sports Management Department of Istanbul Gedik University Faculty of Sports Sciences, Assistant Professor Şeval Kayğusuz, Research Assistant Defne Ezgi Akkaya Boyraz, and Lecturer Kaan Cemallan Biçer participated in the congress with their academic presentations.
Distinguished invited speakers included Dr. Kelly Renner from Franklin University, Professor Miquel Torregrossa from the Autonomous University, Professor Veysel Küçük from Marmara University, and Professor Recep Görgülü from Bursa Uludağ University. Workshop facilitators included Professor Emine Dolu Çağlar from Hacettepe University and Professor Rıdvan Ekmekçi from Pamukkale University. The congress also welcomed the participation of numerous academics and athletes.
