“Assessment in ELT: Test Statistics and Evaluation” Training at School of Foreign Languages

On October 17, 2025, the School of Foreign Languages at Istanbul Gedik University organized a professional development training session titled “Assessment in ELT: Test Statistics and Evaluation” delivered by Dr. Merve Selçuk.
The session explored key concepts in language testing such as test statistics, item analysis, validity, and reliability through practical examples.
Participants learned strategies to design more valid and reliable assessment tools and discussed how to apply statistical insights to enhance exam quality and fairness.
This training forms part of the School’s ongoing professional development program aimed at strengthening instructors’ competencies in assessment and evaluation in ELT.
