About the English Placement Test

The compulsory English Placement Test for newly enrolled students in departments/programs where the language of instruction is English will be held at Istanbul Gedik University Kartal Campus from 10:00 to 11:30. Please make the necessary preparations before the exam and be in the exam room at 10:00.

STUDENTS IN THE PREPARATORY PROGRAM WHO DO NOT TAKE THIS EXAM WILL AUTOMATICALLY BE CONSIDERED A1/A2 LEVEL AND NO CLASS CHANGES WILL BE MADE DURING THE YEAR.
Exam Date: September 1, 2026
Exam Time: 10:00–11:30
Exam Location: Kartal Campus
Exam Rooms: A102, A103, A105, A203, A204, A205, A301, A302, B403, B404
! You must be present in one of the classrooms listed above at the exam time.
General Information About the Exam:
  • The written exam will last 90 minutes.
  • The exam will be in multiple-choice/test format.

  • Students taking the exam must bring a pen, eraser, and pencil sharpener.
  • You must bring both a pen and a pencil to the exam.
  • You must bring your ID card to the exam.
Exam Rules:
  1. Class notes, books, digital devices, and other materials will be collected and placed in an area designated by the instructor or proctor in charge of the exam.
  2. Proctors will arrange students’ seating appropriately, check their IDs, and ensure that they sign the attendance sheet.
  3. Proctors will explain that students’ IDs must remain on their desks throughout the exam.
  4. Students are not allowed to have devices such as mobile phones, headphones, laptops/computers, Bluetooth devices, voice recorders, or smartwatches with them during the exam. If students have any such devices, they must be turned off and stored in a place where they cannot access them before the exam begins, in accordance with the exam rules.
  5. Students who finish the exam are not allowed to wait in the hallway, enter other exam rooms, or talk or communicate with students who are still taking the exam.
