“Orthography of Turkish from Past to Present” International Symposium

Istanbul University Faculty of Letters, International Balkan University (North Macedonia), and the Turkish Language and Literature Association (TDED) jointly organized the “Orthography of Turkish from Past to Present” international symposium, held in Istanbul on 24–26 September 2025. Asst. Prof. Dr. Nerma ZAİMOVİC, Acting Director of IGUN-TOMER, participated in the event.

The symposium addressed topics such as the common Turkish alphabet, the spelling of loanwords and compound words, punctuation marks, the transcription of historical texts into Turkey Turkish, media language, the use of Turkish in digital environments, artificial intelligence, and the future of Turkish.
