“Communication Skills in Teaching Turkish as a Foreign Language” Seminar Held at Istanbul Gedik University IGUN-TOMER

An online seminar titled “Communication Skills in Teaching Turkish as a Foreign Language” was organized by the Turkish Education Application and Research Center (IGUN-TOMER) of Istanbul Gedik University on February 17, 2026.

Prof. Dr. Mustafa KURT from Gazi University participated in the seminar as the invited speaker. The program was moderated by Assist. Prof. Nerma ZAIMOVIC, Director of IGUN-TOMER.

During the event, the importance of communication skills in teaching Turkish as a foreign language was discussed. Methods and techniques aimed at increasing classroom interaction, practical examples for improving speaking and listening skills, and communication-based challenges encountered in the teaching process were comprehensively evaluated.

The seminar was completed in an interactive atmosphere with participants’ questions and contributions.

IGUN-TOMER continues to carry out academic and practice-oriented studies in the field of teaching Turkish as a foreign language.
