Istanbul Gedik University Represented at the Intercontinental Swimming Event in the Bosphorus

Istanbul Gedik University took part in the intercontinental swimming event held in the Bosphorus in August 2026, represented by members of its academic staff and graduates. Res. Asst. Ebrar Şevval Coşkun, a faculty member in the Department of Exercise and Sports Sciences, and Onur Ataoğlu, a graduate of the Faculty of Sports Sciences and the Physical Education and Sports master’s program, successfully completed the course by swimming from Asia to Europe.

Competing on a course that connects the two continents across the Bosphorus, Res. Asst. Ebrar Şevval Coşkun and Onur Ataoğlu began their swim on the Asian side and finished on the European side. By successfully completing the course, both athletes earned the title of “Intercontinental Swimmer.”

The participation and achievement of our university members in the event, alongside their academic work in the field of Sports Sciences and active involvement in various sports disciplines, represented Istanbul Gedik University in an international sporting setting.
