Deans of Faculties of Sport Sciences in Istanbul Convene to Discuss a Common Agenda

The deans of faculties of sport sciences operating in Istanbul convened to evaluate issues related to academic staff planning and course assignment principles in higher education. The meeting primarily focused on identifying priority areas at the undergraduate level where instructors without a doctoral degree may be assigned to teach. During the discussions, reasoned proposals submitted by the faculties were reviewed, and regulatory arrangements concerning departments experiencing difficulties in recruiting faculty members were examined. As a result of the evaluations, a consensus was reached to propose the inclusion of new academic fields in the “List of Undergraduate Programs Experiencing Difficulties in Recruiting Faculty Members and Eligible for the Employment of Lecturers,” which had been previously circulated to universities in accordance with the Council of Higher Education’s official letter dated 11 April 2025 and numbered E-82444403-208.02-17893.
