The Turkish Language Teaching Application and Research Center of Istanbul Gedik University (IGUN-TOMER) was established in 2018 with the aim of providing language education and certification in line with international standards. The training provided at our center is based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), published by the Council of Europe in 2001, which outlines language proficiency in the areas of Reading, Listening, Writing, Spoken Production, and Spoken Interaction.
At IGUN-TOMER, Turkish language instruction focuses on the balanced and integrated development of the four core language skills: Reading, Listening, Writing, and Speaking.
Courses are supported with original instructional materials designed to meet the language development needs of each level. The learning process is enriched through the use of projectors, audiovisual tools, and interactive applications.
Our center not only provides language instruction but also organizes a variety of cultural activities and practical experiences that help students become familiar with Turkish culture and adapt more easily to daily life in Türkiye. In line with a learner-centered educational approach, active participation is encouraged throughout the learning process, and effective teaching strategies are implemented by taking individual differences into consideration.
Students who regularly attend classes and succeed in their courses are entitled to receive an official certificate approved by the Rectorate of Istanbul Gedik University. Certificates issued by IGUN-TOMER are widely recognized as a reliable reference for assessing language proficiency by both public institutions and private sector organizations.
