A Step Towards International Collaboration Between Our Mechanical Engineering (English) Department and TU Bergakademie Freiberg

Our Mechanical Engineering (English) Department recently established an important academic connection with one of Germany’s well-established institutions, TU Bergakademie Freiberg. Dr. Neel Kamal Gupta met with our faculty member, Dr. Doruk Gürkan, to explore potential collaborations in the fields of education and research.

The discussions focused on the potential for joint projects, particularly in Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing (WAAM), interdisciplinary approaches to engineering challenges, and student/faculty exchange programs. This meeting served as a continuation of the initial contact established during the AMC 2025 Conference, further strengthening academic ties between the two universities.

During the visit, both parties also exchanged ideas on EU-funded projects, common research areas, multidisciplinary work aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals, and Erasmus agreements.

We sincerely thank Dr. Neel Kamal Gupta for his valuable contributions and genuine interest in building academic bridges between our institutions. We look forward with great enthusiasm to taking concrete steps towards future collaborations.

This visit stands as a testament to our Mechanical Engineering (English) Department’s commitment to expanding international academic partnerships and reflects our university’s vision of enhancing global academic engagement.
