A Global Green Contribution from Our Academic Staff in Materials Science
Dr. Asst. Prof. Doğu Ramazanoğlu from Istanbul Gedik University has made a significant contribution to the field of materials science with an important international-level study. Published on June 6, 2025, in Inorganic Chemistry Communications, a journal ranked in the SCI Q1 category, this work presents an eco-friendly approach to combating microbial corrosion in construction and infrastructure materials.
The study focuses on the development of a nanohybrid system composed of environmentally friendly components such as chitosan, zinc oxide (ZnO), and copper oxide (CuO). This system enhances both the antimicrobial resistance and surface properties of glass fiber-reinforced composite materials.
Innovative solutions like this, which prioritize sustainability and environmental impact in materials technology, are especially important for meeting the need for durable and hygienic materials in infrastructure applications.
We congratulate our academic staff member on this valuable contribution and wish continued success in their work.
