Istanbul Gedik University Strengthened International Collaborations at the BUA 9th General Assembly
Istanbul Gedik University participated in the 9th General Assembly Meeting of the Balkan Universities Association (BUA), once again demonstrating its strong commitment to internationalization. The meeting was hosted by the University of Montenegro and held in Podgorica, the capital of Montenegro.
Bringing together leading higher education institutions from across the region, the meeting addressed key agenda items as well as new membership applications. During the sessions, candidate universities introduced their institutions, providing detailed insights into their academic structures, educational opportunities, and international collaborations.
Representing Istanbul Gedik University, our esteemed Rector, Prof. Dr. Feriha Erfan Kuyumcu, and the Director of International Relations and Erasmus Institutional Coordinator, Yücel Kamar, attended the meeting. Throughout the event, our representatives engaged with numerous international partners, strengthening existing collaborations and establishing valuable connections for potential new partnerships.
In addition, Istanbul Gedik University officially signed its membership agreement with the Balkan Universities Association, marking an important milestone in strengthening its institutional presence within the regional academic network.
Our representatives emphasized that the Balkan Universities Association serves as a significant platform for enhancing academic cooperation among universities in the region, highlighting its contribution to joint projects, student and staff mobility, and the exchange of knowledge and experience.
The meetings held during the event not only reinforced Istanbul Gedik University’s presence on the international stage but also created a productive networking environment that laid the groundwork for sustainable future collaborations.
