“Istanbul Gedik University Asia-Pacific Research and Application Center and the English Foreign Trade Department Hosted the Webinar on ‘The European Union–India Free Trade Agreement and Its Implications for Türkiye’”

On February 19, 2026, a webinar titled “The European Union–India Free Trade Agreement and Its Implications for Türkiye” was successfully held, organized by the Asia-Pacific Research and Application Center and the English Foreign Trade Department of Istanbul Gedik University.

The event featured Assoc. Prof. Dr. Çiğdem Nas, Secretary General of the Economic Development Foundation (İKV), as the guest speaker. The discussion addressed the current state of the EU–India FTA negotiations, the process of updating the Customs Union, and the potential risks and opportunities for Türkiye from a multidimensional perspective.

The webinar was moderated by Lecturer Sibel Karabel, Director of the Asia-Pacific Research and Application Center and Head of the English Foreign Trade Program. Lecturer Yücel Kamar, Head of the English Foreign Trade Department and Coordinator of International Relations and Erasmus, also attended the event.

Open to external participants, the webinar attracted significant interest from students, academics, and industry professionals.
