Message from the Chair

Dear Students,

Political Science and International Relations are closely related fields, which make it possible to deal with domestic and foreign policy issues together.

The discipline of Political Science examines areas such as authority, legitimacy, class, gender, and political participation in the context of the state, society, group and individual. The discipline of International Relations, on the other hand, analyzes the fundamental dynamics of the global system, and the mutual relations between domestic and foreign policies.

The students in our MA-with thesis (English) Program, specializing both in various sub-disciplines of Political Science such as Comparative Politics, Political Thought, and Turkish Politics as well as sub-disciplines of International Relations such as International Security, International Political Economy, Regional Studies, will be able to grasp both domestic and global dynamics of contemporary world and historical events.

The aim of the MA Program is to train policymakers, policy implementers and scientists who can conduct high-level research and produce high-quality publications.

As our students specialize in both Political Science and International Relations, employment opportunities for our graduates are relatively rich. Students who graduate from our program will be able to find employment not only in academia and public institutions but also in non-governmental organizations, and private sector companies.

We will be happy to see you in our department.

Prof. Dr. Ali Tekin
