Fırst Aid and Emergency Care

First Aid and Emergency Care Technician is a two-year associate degree program that educates students to perform significant interventions in pre-hospital emergency healthcare services, either in ambulances or emergency healthcare vehicles, and provide treatment following specified protocols when there is no physician present.

Purpose

The purpose of Gedik Vocational School’s First Aid and Emergency Care Program is to train qualified healthcare technicians who can efficiently identify and solve health problems in pre-hospital emergency services. The program aims to equip students with the ability to provide basic and advanced life support, recognize all kinds of system traumas, and apply appropriate emergency approaches. These trained technicians will ensure the safe transportation of patients who have received initial interventions to hospitals via ambulances while working collaboratively with their teams.

Objective

At Gedik University’s Gedik Vocational School, the goal is to nurture students of the First Aid and Emergency Care Program to become individuals with international professional competencies in their field.

Upon graduation, individuals from this program can find employment in hospital emergency departments, 112 emergency call centers, and ambulance services. The definitions and legal regulations provided by the Ministry of Health allow for the employment of graduates from this program in emergency services, 112 centers, and ambulance services.
