Assoc. Prof. Dr. Deniz Akçay Balcı’s Academic Study Published in the October 2026 Issue of TOJDAC

The research article titled “Evaluation of Algorithmic Bias in the Context of Gender,” co-authored by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Deniz Akçay Balcı, a faculty member of the Department of Visual Communication Design, and Asst. Prof. Dr. İsmail Özdemir, was published in the October 2026 issue of The Turkish Online Journal of Design, Art and Communication (TOJDAC).
The study examines the potential of artificial intelligence and algorithmic decision-making mechanisms to reproduce existing social inequalities in various fields, including recruitment, healthcare, finance, and social media. It also emphasizes the importance of fairness, transparency, and accountability in algorithmic systems.
