Istanbul Gedik University to Mark World Autism Awareness Day with Special Campus Event

Istanbul Gedik University Faculty of Sport Sciences, Departments of Coaching Education and Physical Education and Sports Teaching, will host a special event in observance of World Autism Awareness Day on April 2.

The event, which will be held under the theme “Autism is not a deficiency, but a difference,” aims to promote both awareness and active participation. Fun obstacle courses will be set up to encourage student engagement, with a focus on social interaction and inclusive sports.

The event will take place on April 8, 2026, at 13:00, at the Football Field of Halil Kaya Gedik Campus, Istanbul Gedik University.

Organized as an extracurricular activity, the event is coordinated by Dr. Çağla Karacan Şimşek, faculty member of the Faculty of Sport Sciences.
