Asst. Prof. Şeval Kayğusuz will be the guest speaker at the talk titled ‘Between the Screen and Reality: Athlete Psychology’

As part of the Istanbul Sports Film Festival, Asst. Prof. Şeval Kayğusuz from Istanbul Gedik University’s Department of Sports Management will lead a compelling talk titled “Between the Screen and Reality: Athlete Psychology.” The event will take place on Sunday, March 29th at 1:00 PM at the AKM Yeşilçam Cinema. The session will explore the gap between performance narratives presented in sports-themed films and the real-life experiences of athletes. From an academic perspective, Dr. Kayğusuz will discuss how cinema represents athlete psychology and the extent to which these portrayals align with actual psychological processes. By examining contemporary issues regarding how athletes interpret the psychological aspects of performance, the talk will evaluate the multidimensional interaction between cinema and sports sciences.
