RESEARCH ASSISTANT KORAY SAMET ALTINÇEKİÇ’S STUDY PUBLISHED IN PLOS ONE
A study co-authored as the first author by Koray Samet Altınçekiç, Research Assistant in the Department of Coaching Education at the Faculty of Sports Sciences at Istanbul Gedik University, has been published in the international journal PLOS ONE, which is indexed in the Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE) and classified in the Q2 quartile.
The study brought together researchers from Istanbul Gedik University, Fenerbahçe Sports Club, Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine, Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa, and Istanbul Gelişim University, combining inter-university academic collaboration with the participation of a professional sports club.
In addition to Koray Samet Altınçekiç, the research team included Şevval Çelen from Fenerbahçe Sports Club; Assoc. Prof. Osman Coşkun from Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine; Asst. Prof. Meltem Özağır from Istanbul Gelişim University; and Asst. Prof. Sinan Avcı, Assoc. Prof. Selin Biçer Baikoğlu, Assoc. Prof. Suzan Dal, and Assoc. Prof. Orkun Akkoç from Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa.
The study, titled “Duration-dependent acute effects of foam rolling on dominant-hand visual reaction time in male youth basketball players: A randomized controlled study,” investigated the acute effects of self-myofascial stimulation using foam rolling for different durations on visual reaction time in youth basketball players. By evaluating neuromotor responses following duration-dependent fascial stimulation, the study contributes to the literature in sports sciences.
