Our University Ranks Fifth in Europe and Third in Türkiye at EUSA Combat Sports 2026

The EUSA Combat Sports 2026, held in Tirana, the capital of Albania, brought together university student-athletes from across Europe. Our university was represented by a total of six athletes: three in taekwondo and three in kickboxing.

Representing our university in taekwondo were Rüya Diler, Hayrunnisa Gürbüz, and İlke Nur Taşoluk, while Faruk Güleşçi, Mücahit Milli, and Ersin Mandal competed in kickboxing.

At the end of the championship, our university ranked 3rd in Europe in taekwondo, 8th in kickboxing, and 5th overall in Europe. Our university also ranked 3rd among universities in Türkiye.

Our Athletes’ Achievements

In the Kyorugi category of taekwondo, Hayrunnisa Gürbüz became champion in the 53 kg category, while Rüya Diler won the gold medal in the 57 kg category.

In kickboxing, Faruk Güleşçi became champion in the Light +84 kg category and won the gold medal. Mücahit Milli won a bronze medal in the Light 74 kg category, while Ersin Mandal earned a bronze medal in the Point Fighting +84 kg category.

With these achievements, our university completed EUSA Combat Sports 2026 with a total of five medals—three gold and two bronze.
