Groundbreaking Ceremony Held for Istanbul Gedik University’s New Academic and Administrative Classroom Building

Istanbul Gedik University has held the groundbreaking ceremony for its new Academic and Administrative Classroom Building, a significant investment that will further strengthen the University’s educational infrastructure.

The ceremony was attended by our Chair of the Board of Trustees, Hülya Gedik; our Acting Rector, Prof. Dr. Feriha Erfan Kuyumcu; Barbaros Binicioğlu, Chairman of the Board of Yenisan Construction; members of our academic and administrative staff, representatives of Gedik Holding, and invited guests. The event marked another important milestone in the University’s ongoing journey of growth and development.

In her opening remarks, our Chair of the Board of Trustees, Hülya Gedik, emphasized that Istanbul Gedik University continues to invest in education in line with its student-centered vision for development. She stated that the new building will serve as an important living and learning environment, contributing to both the academic and personal development of our students.

Following her address, our Acting Rector, Prof. Dr. Feriha Erfan Kuyumcu, highlighted the University’s expanding academic vision and noted that the new Academic and Administrative Classroom Building will make a significant contribution to education, research, and scientific productivity.

Barbaros Binicioğlu, Chairman of the Board of Yenisan Construction, provided information about the project’s technical process and objectives, emphasizing that the new facility will make a valuable contribution to Istanbul Gedik University’s educational infrastructure.

During the ceremony, which continued with prayers and well wishes, our Chair of the Board of Trustees, Hülya Gedik, placed traditional evil eye beads into the foundation concrete of the new building. Symbolizing good fortune, protection, and confidence in the future, this meaningful gesture added a special significance to the occasion.

With a total usable area of 11,650 square meters, the new Academic and Administrative Classroom Building will feature modern classrooms, academic workspaces, and administrative offices, providing our students, academics, and staff with a more contemporary and efficient learning and working environment.

Following the speeches, the project officially commenced with the ribbon-cutting ceremony and the symbolic groundbreaking.
