Academic Visit from the University of Oradea to Our University within the Scope of Erasmus+

On 25 September 2026, Mihai Ionel Ille, Adrian Titus Serseniuc Urzică, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Emilian Tarcău, academics from the Department of Physical Education, Sport and Physical Therapy at the University of Oradea, Romania, visited Istanbul Gedik University within the scope of the Erasmus+ Staff Mobility for Training programme.

During the meeting, attended by Prof. Dr. Feriha Erfan Kuyumcu, Rector of Istanbul Gedik University; Yücel Kamar, Director of International Relations and Erasmus+ Institutional Coordinator; and Prof. Dr. Esra Doğru Hüzmeli, Head of the Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, potential Erasmus+ mobility opportunities, joint academic studies, and project collaborations between Istanbul Gedik University and the University of Oradea were discussed.

As part of the visit programme, Yücel Kamar delivered a presentation introducing Istanbul Gedik University’s academic structure, internationalisation activities, and Erasmus+ opportunities to the visiting academics.

Later in the programme, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Emilian Tarcău first delivered a presentation introducing the University of Oradea as well as the academic and cultural landscape of Romania. He then gave a presentation entitled “The Importance of the Kinetic Plan in Physiotherapy Practice” to students of the Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation. The session was moderated by Prof. Dr. Esra Doğru Hüzmeli, Head of the Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation.

During the visit, the guest academics also met with academics and students from the Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, providing an opportunity for the mutual exchange of knowledge and experience regarding the education and rehabilitation systems in Türkiye and Romania. The programme aimed to further develop academic relations between the two institutions, increase Erasmus+ student and staff mobility, and explore opportunities for future joint academic projects and studies.

The visit is expected to contribute to strengthening academic ties between Istanbul Gedik University and the University of Oradea and fostering new international collaborations.
