Works by Assist. Prof. Kusay Tatlı and Research Assistant Eylül Ezgi Türker Tatlı Featured in the “Anti-Algorithm” Exhibition
Assist. Prof. Kusay Tatlı and Research Assistant Eylül Ezgi Türker Tatlı from the Visual Communication Design Department of the Faculty of Architecture and Design at Istanbul Gedik University participated in the international online exhibition titled “Anti-Algorithm,” organized as part of the 6th International Media and Society Symposium hosted by İstinye University.
Bringing together the works of national and international artists, the exhibition opens the determining influence of algorithms in the digital age to critical discussion. Focusing on the effects of algorithmic systems ranging from social media feeds and news selection to music recommendations and artistic production — on individual creativity, the exhibition aims to highlight alternative forms of expression centered on elements unique to human experience such as randomness, intuition, and error.
The “Anti-Algorithm” exhibition invites audiences to reconsider artistic production as an emotional, intuitive, and critical field against the data-oriented structure of machine logic, while also questioning the boundaries of contemporary digital culture. In this context, the exhibition presents an artistic and intellectual platform for discussing the reclaiming of human subjectivity within today’s algorithm-driven media ecosystem.
The works of Assist. Prof. Kusay Tatlı and Research Assistant Eylül Ezgi Türker Tatlı are also presented to viewers as part of the exhibition.
