“Kadraj: Visual Communication Design Student Film Selection” Convened at Kartal Campus

Organized by the Department of Visual Communication Design within the Faculty of Architecture and Design at Istanbul Gedik University, the “Kadraj: Visual Communication Design Student Film Selection” convened on February 20, 2026, between 10:00 and 13:00 at the Kartal Campus Conference Hall. The student films, produced as part of the GIT457 Short Film Production course and completed under the supervision of Arş. Gör. Eylül Ezgi Türker Tatlı, were presented to the audience as outcomes of a semester-long creative and academic production process.

The program commenced with an opening discussion moderated by Arş. Gör. Eylül Ezgi Türker Tatlı, during which students critically reflected on their filmmaking processes and shared their production experiences. The event was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Architecture and Design, Prof. Dr. Mehmet Zafer Akdemir, and the Head of the Department of Visual Communication Design, Prof. Hayriye Koç Başara, along with faculty members and students.

The films included in the selection were:

Colour Job – Furkan İlhan
Ceset – Koray Çelik & Bilal Taraklı
Rüya – Doğukan Civelek
3 Günlük Adalet – Yakuphan Erarslan, Yusuf Öztürk, Ömer Said Gezdirici & Kadir Özkul

In her closing remarks, Prof. Hayriye Koç Başara emphasized the students’ commitment to disciplined production practices and their capacity to develop coherent cinematic narratives, expressing her expectation that the event will continue in the coming years. Certificates of appreciation were subsequently presented to the students by Asst. Prof.  Ekrem Çetin Bigat.

Acknowledgment was extended to Asst. Prof.Kusay Tatlı for his contributions to the screening process. The selection concluded as a meaningful academic and artistic platform that fostered the integration of theoretical inquiry and creative practice.
