Illustration Workshop Titled “The Stories of Characters, the Characters of Stories” Held in the Department of Visual Communication Design

The Department of Visual Communication Design at Istanbul Gedik University Faculty of Architecture and Design organized an Illustration Workshop titled “The Stories of Characters, the Characters of Stories,” which was held with strong student participation.

Moderated by Assist. Prof. Ruhcan Akil, the event brought together students with illustrator Esra İlter Demirbilek. Within the scope of the workshop, participants carried out practical studies on character design, visual storytelling, illustration drawing techniques, and creative production processes.

Throughout the event, students had the opportunity to experience creative approaches to character creation while also engaging in comprehensive discussions on the role of visual narration in storytelling. Supported by hands-on practices, the workshop contributed to the development of both the technical and creative skills of the participants. The event concluded with Assist. Prof. Ruhcan Akil presenting a plaque to illustrator Esra İlter Demirbilek.

Organized by the Department of Visual Communication Design, the event created an interdisciplinary environment of production and sharing by bringing students together with industry professionals.
