Fieldwork Started in Mudurnu within the Scope of the TÜBİTAK 3005 Project

Fieldwork has started in Mudurnu within the scope of the TÜBİTAK 3005 project, in which Assoc. Prof. Dr. Deniz Akçay Balcı, faculty member of the Department of Visual Communication Design at Istanbul Gedik University, serves as a researcher.
The field research conducted as part of the project titled “Developing a Communication Model to Support the Branding of Mudurnu through Citizen Participation” began with interviews carried out in Mudurnu on June 15.
The field research team included Assoc. Prof. Dr. Deniz Akçay Balcı from the Department of Visual Communication Design at Istanbul Gedik University, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hanzade Uralman from Istanbul Okan University, and Assist. Prof. Dr. Havva Palacı.
Within the scope of the study, interviews were conducted with Mudurnu tradespeople, local stakeholders, and opinion leaders. Through these interviews, field data were collected on the district’s brand identity, local values, cultural heritage, citizen participation, and communication opportunities.
Aiming to make Mudurnu’s historical, cultural, and social heritage more visible through citizen participation, the project seeks to develop a sustainable communication model for the branding of the district by involving local actors in the process.
