Clay Character Design Workshop by the Visual Communication Design Club

The Visual Communication Design Club of Istanbul Gedik University organized a “Clay Character Design Workshop” on October 23, 2026, in classroom B403.

The workshop, led by Asst. Prof. Ekrem Çetin Bigat, was organized by Visual Communication Design Club President Sami Yusuf Demirel and Club Advisor Research Assistant Eylül Ezgi Türker Tatlı.

Aiming to enhance students’ creative thinking skills and provide hands-on experience in three-dimensional design processes, the workshop encouraged participants to create original characters using clay. Through practical activities exploring fundamental design elements such as form, proportion, volume, and visual expression, students focused on transforming two-dimensional concepts into three-dimensional forms.

The workshop provided students with an opportunity to explore the relationship between material manipulation and character development, strengthening their artistic production skills while encouraging individual creativity.
