Assoc. Prof. Dr. Deniz Akçay Balcı & Tuğba Kılıç Presented a Paper at the 5th International Printing Technologies Symposium

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Deniz Akçay Balcı from the Department of Visual Communication Design at the Faculty of Architecture and Design, Istanbul Gedik University, and student Tuğba Kılıç presented a paper at the 5th International Printing Technologies Symposium organized by the Department of Printing Technologies, Faculty of Applied Sciences at Marmara University on May 14–15, 2026.

The paper titled “Web Accessibility and Digital Inclusivity through the Development of WCAG” discussed the historical development of digital accessibility standards, the role of WCAG criteria in web design processes, and the importance of inclusive digital experiences in terms of user accessibility. The presentation also emphasized the significance of accessible design approaches within the contexts of digital communication, user experience, and social inclusivity.

The academic study aimed to raise awareness about accessible web design while also addressing contemporary approaches to improving equal access opportunities across digital platforms.
